José Rodríguez: “If we had been awarded that penalty we would have won”

Blue and Whites’ midfielder, José Rodríguez, who debuted in Vila-real with Málaga CF, appeared in the mixed zone at the Castellón stadium. “I’m still lacking the rhythm to reach my level”.

Debut

“I felt good. I’m still lacking the rhythm of competition, which you get the more you play. I need to reach my level, which is much higher than the level I performed at today”.

Goal and effectiveness

“The team was slightly more effective and we leave here happy, although our objective was to win. We’re playing very good football, but we’re missing out on converting the chances we create. We went all out for the match today, which is important in football”.

The areas, key

“For me it wasn’t a penalty – the supposed foul by Rosales on Sansone – but for him (Bikandi) it was a penalty and we respect that (…) I asked Charles to be honest, if it really was a penalty, and he said yes. It conditioned the match for us, and I think if we had been awarded that penalty we would have won. However, it’s over now and we must focus on Las Palmas, which is the most important thing”.

Travelling fans

“I’d like to thank them both on a personal level, as they help me to play better, especially with the team. A lot of people came here to support us, and it’s a shame we couldn’t give them a victory”.
