José González: “We know we’ve disappointed many people”

The coach affirms that “it’s difficult to cope with and accept the failure, but we need to work even harder if that’s possible, as it’s the least our fans deserve”.

Situation

“It’s difficult for everyone. We know we’ve disappointed many people, there are many people working at the Club who make our day to day lives easier, and we’ve disappointed them too. Also, the fans, but we are aware we’re professionals and tomorrow we face a tough match against a team that has had a fantastic run, generates a lot of football, and against whom we must play with great intensity. Therefore, tomorrow we have to immerse ourselves in the match, stay intense and focused and show that there’s love for what we do”.

Compete

“I’m going to try to select the best 11 I can to compete, so nobody can say we’re dead men walking. We’ll put out the best team we can as the competition is highly demanding. As we’ve seen, even when giving our all we haven’t been able to win. A footballer needs to feel like a footballer, needs to feel competitive, which is what we’ll try to do amongst us all. There has been communication within the dressing room, they’ll all go out to compete, stand up to the rival and not allow themselves to give up, or show a lack of professionalism”.

Reception

“There will be a difficult atmosphere for the players, but that’s the way it is every week. It’s hard to cope with and accept the failure. However, we must learn to accept it and work even harder if that’s possible. That’s what we’re going to try to do until the end of the season as it’s the least our fans deserve”.

Tears of Martín Aguilar

“It truly hurts me. What I see here every day are some excellent professionals and many, many wonderful people in and around the Club. Perhaps that’s where I felt the most comfortable, with the feeling I get from these people. Maybe it’s because they’re more like the people of Cádiz, but there are some fantastic people here and it hurts because you feel there may be jobs at stake. There are indeed many things at stake, it hurts us, and we regret that he cried as well as many Malaguistas who felt the same anger and helplessness as we all do”.
