Málaga CF’s manager gave a press conference ahead of the #LeganésMálaga match: “The distance of points seems very great, but if we achieve this win, we’ll be seeing everything differently.”
José González appeared in the ‘Juan Cortés’ Press Room at La Rosaleda Stadium in the Selected Homme uniform, which is used by the squad on their travels.
Salvation
“Every week we repeat the same. They want that we save ourselves. In other circumstances it would be very difficult. We all yearn for that first victory that escapes us, sometimes with more merit than others. There’s no doubt that the distance of points seems very great, but if we achieve this win, we’ll be seeing everything differently. I know it’s repetitive and can seem tiresome. The numbers are too cold sometimes and they reflect the reality, but in these last few matches we’ve been very close to a win on many occasion. We were close on the day of Valencia and with Eibar, and also in San Mamés. The team is mentally alive and they show that to me. In minute 84 were squeezing the goalkeeper, fighting for the last point. This is the hope that we have and that keeps us alive.”
CD Leganés
“Without winning, if we go to LaLiga, because in Copa del Rey they eliminated Villareal and Real Madrid in this last phase. What’s not in doubt is that they’ve accumulated many matches in these last two months because they’ve played in the Copa. They’ve fought hard and, in other circumstances, they would have made more rotations. As they were in a good position in La Liga, they faced the Copa with maximum intensity. I always maintain the utmost respect for a rival and I know that they’re going to be tough and difficult, very intense and focused. Also, I believe that we have our own weapons ad I’m sure that they respect us too.”
