José Alberto: “We’ve come from a victory and we want consistency”
The Malaguista coach held a press conference in the Juan Cortés press room at La Rosaleda in the lead-up to #MálagaRealSporting, corresponding to LaLiga SmartBank matchday 23.
José Alberto is pleased with the two latest signings that were officially announced this week. The coach commented that “they’re here to boost competitiveness and bolster the squad.”
In regard to the Cádiz-born winger, the Malaguista coach said he “can play in the three positions behind the striker, with a great deal of quality and self-confidence. He is extremely keen to contribute to the team and show the type of player he is,” he added.
Febas, who today underwent his first training session with the group “arrives with pace.” José Alberto highlights his versatility: “He can play as a 6, 8 or outside positions to boost superiority inside. He’s very versatile, highly intense, with the ability to play upfront and with a high standard of play with the ball.”
José Alberto emphasises the importance of tomorrow’s match: “There are three very important points at stake as we’re back at La Rosaleda, we’ve come from a victory, and we want consistency and to engage the fans. I’m looking forward to seeing people I love, but what I want most is to win the three points,” he stated.
When asked about the Asturian rival, the coach said “they are a team with many automatisms and mechanisms similar to what we’re looking for. They have a combination of veteran and young players, who have moved up with immense quality and confidence. They are an associative team that try to start the game from behind, with an excellent goalkeeper and forward. In this division, what makes the difference are the areas, and they have them covered very well,” he went on to say about tomorrow’s rival.
