José Alberto: “We must get back to being ourselves again”

The Málaga CF coach spoke to the media at La Rosaleda this Friday. “We’re back at our stadium in front of our fans, where we feel the most comfortable,” he said.

The principal news of the day involves Luis Muñoz. “A serious injury never comes at a good time for anyone. The worst thing is for the player, who is the one who suffers the damage and sees his progression come to a halt. This is very bad news for the team, because of his leadership and the way he works. Yesterday he was angry, but today when I saw him he was like he always is, strong, wanting to have the surgery and get back to the team soon,” said José Alberto.

“The injury of a teammate is always bad news, but now it’s time for those members of the team who haven’t played such an important role to step up and show what they can do. We have a good squad, although of course Luis is one of the strongholds,” he added.

The next rival is Fuenlabrada. We’re back at our stadium in front of our fans, where we feel the most comfortable and where we’ve seen Málaga’s best minutes of the season. We must get back to being ourselves again. This is what I want for Sunday’s game, against an opponent that has only lost the first match, drawn four and shown that they compete very well,” said the Malaguista coach.

In regard to the loyal Malaguista fans the coach stated: “We cannot ask the fans for anything, we must give back to them. And when it’s like that, they really get behind the team, and there’s a special unity between the supporters and the squad that I’ve only seen a few times before. Each player must give their all, with the utmost effort and intensity. Playing at home, at stadiums like ours, helps you and gives you a boost during the difficult times. With a capacity crowd we’ll notice it a lot more.”
