José Alberto: “We have to play at a good level tomorrow”
The Malaguista coach held a press conference ahead of #MálagaRealZaragoza. “This is a team that will require us to be very focused if we want to score points.”
José Alberto López answered all the questions regarding tomorrow’s match at 20.30 against Real Zaragoza, corresponding to LaLiga SmartBank matchday 10.
This match will see the Malaguista coach reach his 100th in the silver division of Spanish football. In answer to this question, he stated: “Nobody my age has reached this figure, but I’m focused on what is to come, on the objectives and the excitement of this season, and of course on tomorrow's game.”
In regard to tomorrow’s rival, Real Zaragoza, he said that “they are the team with the most possession in the category, the team that recovers the ball the fastest, the second that makes the most shots at the rival goal and the second to receive the fewest number of shots at goal. Yet the results aren’t going their way. They have an excellent squad and an excellent coaching team, players made to be at the top.” He went on to say that, like Málaga CF, they have “a lot of history” and that “they could be in the playoffs if they had been more effective when it comes to scoring goals.”
Even though Zaragoza have eight points so far this season, José Alberto López cautioned that “this is a team that will require us to be very focused and not make any mistakes if we want to score points tomorrow.”
Málaga CF have made La Rosaleda a fortress this season, where they’ve claimed 10 out of the 12 points up to now and kept a clean sheet. “Whenever we play in front of our fans, it gives us a boost because of the encouragement and motivation to play with our people,” he stated.
Despite these good stats at Martiricos, the Malaguista coach believes that the team has to “improve on a lot of things, not allow the rival to make so many attempts and be more compact, both home and away.”
Lastly, he stressed that with three matches coming up in a week “the entire squad is going to be important.”
