The Malaguista coach held a press conference following the victory against CF Fuenlabrada (1-0).

Within his first answer he said the victory was “very important for the week, due to the last two defeats and Luis Muñoz’s injury. This victory is for him and hopefully all the future wins we’re yet to achieve,” he said.

In regard to the game, he stated it was “terribly difficult, the team competed and worked in an exceptional way.” As part of his analysis, he said “the team played at a high level for 55-60 minutes, with great criteria, a lot of football, vertical on the outside and interpreting well what they had to do. The entire team performed at their best level, which is key.”

Asked about the #MálagaFuenla result he said “it’s totally fair. Anything that was not a Málaga victory today would have been unfair. I only remember 2-3 approaches from Fuenlabrada in the whole match, which were precisely in our best minutes. In the second half they had a lot of lateral crosses and set pieces. Dani didn’t make any saves in the second half, only aerial balls.”

Málaga CF have won 10 out of 12 points at La Rosaleda, keeping a clean sheet at their stadium. The coach hopes to “achieve the consistency we have at home in away games.”

Lastly, he highlights the importance of the entire squad. “It’s crucial that they’re all prepared, we’re going to need everyone, although there are players who aren’t participating too much,” he said.
