Genaro: “The team works for this during the week”

The Malaguista player held a press conference in the ‘Juan Cortés’ press room at La Rosaleda following the duel with CF Fuenlabrada: “We returned to winning ways today.”

Genaro was part of the starting-11 in the match against CF Fuenlabrada. After the victory the player headed to the press room to speak to the media: “The team works for this during the week. We’ve had the misfortune of Luis Muñoz’s injury, who is such an important member of the team. We work hard so you can’t notice the absences and we’re all in this together,” he said when asked about his teammate’s injury.

“We were really looking forward to greater capacity being allowed. We experienced all the circumstances that we’ve worked on during the week and we knew how to adapt perfectly to each one. We managed to score from a set piece and the match went in our favour,” he said about the team's performance.

Genaro goes on to talk about the team: “We’re a professional squad, young and with a great deal of variety on the team. We’re having a good start to the season and can’t rest on our laurels.”

The player acted as spokesperson for the dressing room when asked about team morale: “We’ve come from two painful defeats and we returned to winning ways today. From tomorrow we’ll focus on the next game.”

In relation to the defeats away from home, Genaro is optimistic: “Every match is different, there are circumstances that cannot be controlled. I wouldn't see it as a negative streak. The hard work will soon reap rewards with few mistakes.”
