Javi Jiménez: “A great atmosphere is being created”

The Blue and White winger talked about the team’s current situation during the presentation of the away kit: “The players arriving are full of hunger and enthusiasm,” he explained.

Javi Jiménez and his teammate Carlos López attended the gala presentation of the away shirt they’ll wear during this upcoming campaign. The defender offered an impromptu press conference to the attending media: “It’s an intense pre-season during which we’re adopting the concepts Pablo Guede wants as fast as we can. We’ll continue improving and fine-tuning the details during the friendly matches,” he stated.

Jiménez suffered a muscular injury to the right iliac psoas in the final stretch of last season. He commented: “Whenever you're out of action you look at your teammates and the only thing you can think about is coming back as soon as possible to help. It’s important to keep a cool head so as not to take a step back again.”

He was also asked about the arrival of players with the ability to adapt to different schemes: "I think there are versatile players who can play in different positions which can provide lots of alternatives when facing any match. That in a category like the Second Division, considering how long the year is, is very important,” he said.

During the first weeks of the transfer window, MCF has made various movements, as Javi Jiménez talks about: “When things don't go well - like last year there are changes – changes are made, which is normal. The players arriving are full of hunger and enthusiasm. A great atmosphere is being created, which is crucial for the course of the season.”

Lastly, he was asked about his new teammate, Rubén Castro: “Since he arrived, he got straight to work. He trains like everyone else, he’s someone to look up to for me and for the lads coming up from the youth ranks. Seeing that a person like Rubén Castro, with the career he’s had, have that predisposition is the best possible example,” he concluded.
