Málaga discovers the new away shirt

The official presentation of the away jersey brought together the main representatives of the local institutions and the Club at La Rosaleda. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the new and original away kit.

It was a very special moment on the first floor of the Tribuna VIP Area of La Rosaleda Stadium. The presentation of a new shirt always generates great expectation.

An hour before, a group of 10 Loyal Malaguistas, the winners of a prize draw organised by the Club, were the first to exclusively see the away shirt.

In the house of Malaguismo, in front of the media, waiting for the curtain to rise on the long-awaited garment was a select representation from the Club and local institutions.

On behalf of Málaga CF, in attendance were José María Muñoz, judicial administrator; Manolo Gaspar, Sporting director; Pablo Guede, coach; and players Javi Jiménez and Carlos López. Representing the institutions were Francisco de la Torre, Mayor of Málaga; Francisco Salado, president of the Diputación de Málaga; and Mercedes García Paine, provincial delegate for Education and Sport at the Junta de Andalucía.

All of them watched as the shirt was unveiled, the away jersey for the 2022/23 season, which left them amazed. A ground-breaking, original model with shades that range from ‘vintinto’ to pink, making it unique.

Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, hopes that “both the home shirt from the other day, and this one with wine and roses, which are beautiful, will accompany Málaga CF in its promotion to the First Division.” He’s also confident that, with the help of the sponsorship of the City Hall, “the team will enjoy matches where they win wearing these shirts.”

Francisco Salado, president of the Diputación de Málaga, stated: “Any shirt is good when your team wins, but this is highly original, with a nod to the history of La Rosaleda.” He added: “I think it’s really interesting, with that touch of wine, that Sabor a Málaga’”.

For her part, Mercedes García Paine, provincial delegate for Education and Sport at the Junta de Andalucía said that “this is the most ground-breaking shirt we’ve seen in recent years. When you know the history, you’ll fall in love with this shirt. I already love it. I think it will bring immense joy.”

Lastly, one of the Malaguista players who’ll be wearing the shirt, Javi Jiménez, commented: “These roses refer to the history of this beautiful stadium and it’s important, even when we’re playing away away, to take that little piece of the Club's history with us.”

A shirt with which Málaga CF wants to bring the support of La Rosaleda to all corners of Spain.
