The Málaga CF coach held a press conference to analyse tonight’s defeat in Mestalla.
Javi Gracia explains how the match panned out: “We didn’t get off to a bad start, but we failed to defend well from the free kick and the rival took the lead. Following this, Angeleri’s action, and then the second goal, it made things extremely difficult for us and we had an uphill struggle for the remainder of play.”
The coach then made reference to Duda’s penalty which was saved by the Valencia keeper: “We weren’t accurate from the penalty spot, and this was our chance to get into the game. We were punished too much, not for the defeat, but how it came about,” comments the manager.
Camacho played for 90 minutes tonight and the coach says of his performance: “I think there were too many players who needed freshening up; both Camacho who is still in recovery, as well as Pablo who has accumulated many minutes on the pitch since his debut. However, they held up well, and Camacho’s return gave us a breath of fresh air.”
“We have known for some time that we would struggle in this game, and now it is reality. We must all work hard now in order to move forward,” says the coach to end his press conference in Valencia.
