The Málaga CF coach is sincere after the draw with Granada CF: “I don’t want to say things just for the sake of it, except the fact that we are committed and will try and do the best we can.”
Analysis of the match
“The match changed a great deal following the expulsion. When we were equal in numbers we competed pretty well. The rival didn’t generate any real danger for us, and we had a 2-0 advantage. However as time went on, little by little we began to lose possession and we subsequently conceded goals.”
A lost opportunity
“With the team’s current situation, being at the bottom of the table, we were all hoping for a win tonight, so it’s a lost opportunity. In times of necessity, all adversities seem bigger and cause more damage. We didn’t deserve to lose a player for such a long time. If there is an expulsion of this type, for me the second yellow card is very harsh, as the other player should have been sent off too. Right now we are left with the feeling that we did a lot of things well tonight in order to win, we scored twice, but it wasn’t enough to clinch victory.”
Hope for the future
“Summarising all the emotions with one word is difficult, but if I had to choose one it is ‘hope’ for the future. We’ll try our best to improve the situation as I think we deserve more than this.”
Don’t want to say things for the sake of it
“I don’t feel empowered to say anything convincing, as it won’t console or convince anyone as we’re all very hurt. But, like everything in life, it’s a question of time. I don’t want to say things just for the sake of it, except the fact that we are committed and will try and do the best we can. I hope that in the future, our work will reap more rewards.”
Positive aspects
“We were capable of scoring two goals, which on other occasions we weren’t able to do. We’re improving, and hopefully one of these days luck will be on our side.”
