Javi Gracia: “The team is upset as we could have achieved more”

The Blue and Whites’ manager is proud of his players’ work despite tonight’s defeat at the Santiago Bernabéu: “The team is upset as we competed well, we had our moments despite it not being easy, but we were hopeful we could have achieved more.”

Javi Gracia analyses tonight’s match in which the ‘Malaguistas’ “generated goal chances in the first half, and we started off well in the second half, dominating play for a time with a very even score until the end.  I think we were pretty good tonight.”

With regards to the referee’s actions, the coach says: “I prefer not to voice my opinions.  We’ll look again at the offside goal afterwards, but my team performed well on the pitch considering how they were treated.”

Gracia values the experience his team of young players is enjoying: “There’s no better way to grow and improve than to live every type of situation and experience.  We’ve got a fairly young squad and all these experiences will help them to become better players.”
