Izan Merino and Antoñito Cordero called up to the Spain U-19s

Both players have been selected by Spain's U-19 squad to prepare for the upcoming European Championship in the category, which will take place in Romania from June 13 to 26.

National coach Paco Gallardo has included Malaguistas Izan and Antoñito in a squad of 26 footballers who will be training in a camp in Alfaz del Pí (Alicante) from June 2 to 9.

At the Guillermo Amor Stadium in Benidorm, on Saturday, June 7 at 12:00, Spain will play a preparatory friendly match against the United States.

On June 10, the Spain U-19 team will travel to Romania, taking 20 of the initial 26 players called up by Gallardo. The Spanish schedule for the first phase of the European Championship is as follows:

  • Spain – Denmark (13 June, 17:00)
  • Romania – Spain (16 June, 17:00)
  • Montenegro – Spain (19 June, 19:00)

The Spanish team will be aiming for their 10th European U-19 title and to defend the crown they won last year in Northern Ireland.
