Izan Merino and Antoñito Cordero return after their time with the U-18 National Team
The homegrown Malaguistas are back after playing two friendlies against Switzerland’s U-18s at the RFEF’s Football City.
Málaga CF had double representation in the international friendlies played this week, on Tuesday and Thursday, between Spain and Switzerland at Las Rozas Football City. Paco Gallardo selected Antoñito Cordero and Izan Merino for the national under-18s’ matches.
Spain began their journey with a 1-1 draw. Izan Merino, wearing the number 4 jersey, was in the starting-11 and captain of the team, wearing the armband proudly during the 70 minutes he was on the pitch. For his part, Antoñito Cordero, wearing the number 10, joined play in the second half to replace Pablo López in the 69th minute.
In the second match, Spain secured a 3-0 victory. Antoñito Cordero was included in the starting line-up and competed for 90 minutes, while Izan Merino took to the field in the 68th minute, replacing Hugo Barrachina.
Congratulations on the experience lads! Here’s to many more!
