Izan in the starting-11 into semi-finals of European U-17 Championship

The player from the MCF Academy played 62 minutes as a right-back in the quarter-final match of the continental championship, where Spain beat Ireland 3-0, reaching the penultimate round and qualifying for the U-17 World Cup.

Izan Merino was one of the starting-11 players chosen by Julen Guerrero in the quarter-final match of the European U-17 Championship against Ireland, held in Budapest, in which Spain won by three goals to nil, reaching the semi-finals and obtaining a place in the World Cup in the category.

The Blue and White youth player, who acted as a right-back, played a total of 62 minutes, being replaced by Héctor Fort.

Alejandro Granados, Marc Guiou and Lamine Yamal scored the Spain goals.

The national team’s next match in the tournament is on Tuesday 30th at 20:00 in the Hungarian town of Felcsút, when they will face France in the semi-finals.
