Manuel Iturra was back in the Blue and White jersey for the friendly match in Cádiz against Hamburg. “This will help me a great deal to get in shape”, he said after the match.
Physical condition
“I’m thrilled with my debut, despite not being an official game, but it will help me a great deal to get in shape, get to know my teammates and be able to do my bit for the team. I’ve tried to look after myself throughout my career and I think I’m in good physical shape. I hope this will be reflected in an official match as soon as possible”.
Difficult situation
“I think we are in a tough position, looking at the challenge that lies before us. You see the guys training with a lot of intensity and enthusiasm to move forward. When you’re in these situations it’s a struggle as you have a lot of pressure, you have to win, yet the matches go by and you don’t manage to claim any points. However, we are confident, we know there’ll be movements and everyone within the Club is doing everything possible to ensure Málaga ends the season in the best way”.
Responsibility and professionalism
“We are all aware of the responsibility we have, which is why we’re doing everything we can to get out of this position. Nobody wants to be in this situation, we’re working and training hard with the greatest professionalism, intensity and commitment, which hopefully we’ll see on Monday against Espanyol, a particularly difficult rival”.
Valid friendly
“Following the Christmas break, a friendly game is good to help you gain pace and get in shape. I think we finished the match well, even though we lost; we ended well, kept the pressure on upfront, kept searching for the leveller…There are always things to improve on, but we finished the match with good sensations”.
Fully fit
“I always feel prepared and available for whatever the coach says. Whether it’s one minute, 45, half an hour or whatever, I’m going to do my bit. Mine is sacrifice, intensity and conveying this fighting spirit to my teammates”.
