Press conference

“I’m Malagueño and Malaguista; it comes from the heart”

One of the team captains held a press conference at La Rosaleda today: “They are a competitive team that will come here wanting to win,” said Luis Muñoz about Saturday’s rival, Burgos CF.

"I feel really good, I thought I’d be more tired. The recovery has gone perfectly. I’ve been out of competition for seven months and it’s certainly not easy, those who have been injured know what it’s like,” said Luis, who affirmed that: “I still need a bit more time to reach my level and form. I still don't have the pace of competition.”

On a personal level, “I was uncertain but I’m Malagueño and Malaguista; it comes from the heart, even though I’m not at 100 per cent. I wanted to contribute everything I could at that time,” he said about his return to the pitch in Tenerife.

Luis calls for “calm” to face the remainder of the season. “We’re determined to win the three points (on Saturday) as nothing is in the bag yet. This weekend we’ll go out there and give 100 per cent and achieve salvation at our home in front of our fans,” he stated.

“The fans are very important to us. It’s going to be a tough match and Burgos won’t make it easy. I’m going to give 100 per cent for them, the fans and the club. There have been some difficult times and they’ve never given up on us. It’s so important that they come and greet us and cheer us on for 90 minutes as they are player number 12,” said the number ‘8’ in reference to the loyal Malaguista fans.

Focusing on Burgos, “although nothing is at stake, we are professionals. We have to go out and give everything we’ve got as it won’t be easy. They are a competitive team that will come here wanting to win. We’ll try to counteract their game, so them some damage and claim victory at home,” added Luis.
