“I felt good, it’s different to training at home”

The Portuguese right-winger spoke to MCFTV on the return to individual training: “It will be like a pre-season, some will adapt better than others, some will take longer, but I’m sure we’ll all be ready to compete”.

Health crisis in Portugal

“In Portugal the situation is somewhat calmer. We also had the state of alarm, but I was in a village, in the country, we were much calmer, we had controls, but it wasn’t like being in a city such as Málaga. We stayed at home like everyone else, only went out to the supermarket, pharmacy and little else”.

Recent paternity

“My son was born a little over two months ago, so even if it were a normal situation, we’d have to spend more time at home. For us it wasn’t very difficult. It’s been a struggle, as it has for everyone, as you have schedules and you want to make life as normal as possible for the children. We started going out with them a few days ago, but it’s not the same. That said, we’re doing very well with our two-month-old”.

The family is doing well

“Everyone is fine. We are close to my grandparents, my parents, my aunts and uncles and we’ve had to see them from afar. We stayed in the car to protect them as they are high risk. It’s important to take into account older people who are more at risk”.

Back to training

I felt good, it’s different to training at home, using the ball, doing different movements, endurance tests etc. It will be like a pre-season, some will adapt better than others, some will take longer, but I’m sure we’ll all be ready to compete”.

Returning to the pitch at La Rosaleda

“It’s better to see it from a distance than not see it at all. We’re all very happy to be back, despite these strange circumstances. It’s better to do something rather than stay at home as we did before”.
