Haitam Abaida was initially shown the yellow card for an action on a Ponferradina player, but after consulting the VAR he was sent off with a direct red card in minute 78’ of play.
According to the federative committee, he was shown the red card for violence-one match suspension (Art. 123.1), meaning Haitam will miss out on #RealSportingMálaga.
This is the second expulsion of the season for a Malaguista player, following the double yellow and subsequent red card shown to Escassi in Málaga-Alcorcón on league matchday 3.
