Guede: “We’re going to fight the leader of the category”
The Málaga CF coach held a press conference in the ‘Juan Cortés’ press room at La Rosaleda the day before #MálagaEibar. “Eibar are the best team right now, but we’ll go out there and compete against them,” he said.
“The leader is coming here and we have to compete. It's going to be a really tough game, much like the last two. The most important thing is to compete as we have been doing, not lose intensity or concentration, and play the game,” he commented in regard to tomorrow's league rival. “We have to keep adding points. Hopefully we’ll win, it would be amazing with a full crowd at La Rosaleda,” he added.
The Spanish-Argentinean coach is only focused on Eibar. “We cannot allow ourselves to lose focus for one second during Saturday’s game. If we start thinking about something else, that’s when things will go wrong. Nothing else is entering my head. Just Eibar. Then next week it’ll only be about Las Palmas,” he stated.
In regard to Sekou and his strikers, the coach is clear: “He’s neither more nor less important than our other forwards. They’re killing themselves in training to make it difficult for me to decide who plays. This is the way forward.”
Going back to Eibar, Guede isn’t giving away any tactical clues, “but I will say we’ll go out there and compete against them, against the leader of the category, as we should. If they’re the leader, they’re the best. Eibar are the best team right now. We have to go out and compete with them, it's certainly not going to be easy, but we're going to compete in many aspects,” he continued.
Finally, the coach has a personal message for the fans. “Please come to support us. Let that first match be a great memory, for the emotions, the tension, the nerves, the fear, the people…Such strong feelings. Let’s hope the fans come and cheer us on as they always do, I believe it’s going to be a great match. We need everyone. It’s easier when we stick together. We can never lose that. We’re stronger together. How many can we fit, 42,000? How many? 30.000? Let’s move closer to that,” concluded the Blue and White coach.
