Guede: “I know that we’re going to turn this situation around”
The Málaga CF coach held a press conference following #MálagaAlbaceteBP. “We lacked a bit of concentration in the initial minutes, but we deserved more than a defeat,” he said.
Malaguista coach, Pablo Guede appeared in the ‘Juan Cortés’ press room after the match against Albacete Balompié at La Rosaleda.
He kicked off his press conference by acknowledging that “we lacked a bit of concentration in the initial minutes, and we paid the price. We deserved more than a defeat. The lads performed well, we went in search of the game in the right way and created opportunities. But those two early goals punished us in the final result,” he stated.
Continuing his analysis of the match, he said: “The team gave their all to turn the result around. They went all out on the attack and weren’t disorganised. We kept up the attack, yet the result hides a lot of the good that we did. We have to keep working hard and growing, and those shots that hit the post need to go in.”
Guede talked about the actions that marked the final result. “We made two clearances inside the box, but they didn’t work out. They are errors that we must try to resolve,” he commented. He continued by focusing on the positives: “We entered from the right, left and through the middle. There were inaccuracies, but it wasn’t a disaster. The second half was all ours.”
The Blue and White coach stated that “when you want to go for a draw, you have to fail somewhere. We’re disappointed in the result, and it obscures our vision of play. We didn't do everything well, or brilliantly, but in the second half we did enough to get a draw. In the final minutes there were more spaces, but we didn’t stop trying,” he added.
He ended the press conference with a hopeful message: “The team is growing little by little, the results are what they are. I’m going to continue working, because I believe in what I do and what we have. I know that we’re going to turn this situation around, we’re only four matches in.”
