Goalless draw leaves everything to play for in the return leg

A goalless draw for Atlético Malagueño (0-0) against Yeclano Deportivo, in the first leg of the Promotion Playoffs to2ªB. The tie will be decided in the return leg.

The Malaguista reserve team kept a clean sheet against the rival from Murcia and could ascend to the bronze division of Spanish football if they achieve a score draw or a win in the return leg taking place at Estadio La Constitución.

The Blue and Whites were better positioned in the initial stages and imposed their gameplay. Jaime Moreno enjoyed a promising scoring opportunity behind the central defenders to perforate the Yeclano Deportivo goal after 20 minutes, however the keeper prevented an opener. Abeledo tried again with a cross, but the shot from David Ramos went high. The visitors made several attempts with various cross shots that didn’t come to fruition. The first half ended with dominance by the Blue and Whites but without goals.

The visitors kicked off the second half seeking a counter attack against the dominance by Dely Valdés’ team. The Malaguista defence and Kellyan repelled the attacks well. Jaime Moreno had the clearest chance of the match, but his shot was blocked by the rival keeper. Dely made some changes midway through the second half, bringing on Hicham in place of Maty. Five minutes later, Harper tried his luck from in front of the area, but once again the Murcia goalkeeper impeded a local goal. Abeledo was replaced by Altamirano with 15 minutes remaining. The Málaga side went all out in an attempt to net a goal against Yeclano in the final minutes. Again, another cross from Ramos made it to the area. Kellyan deflected a good shot from the visitors with a header. Neither team managed a goal, and the game ended in a 0-0 draw.
