All square between the Malaguistas and Racinguistas in this intense match.
Málaga CF faced Real Racing Club de Santander on matchday 8 of LaLiga SmartBank this Saturday 1st October. The match was held at Campos de Sport de El Sardinero on a pleasant afternoon, with a temperature of around 20º and 10,032 fans in the stands.
The locals stepped on to the pitch with the conviction of taking the lead on the scoreboard in the early stages of play. However, the efficient Blue and White defence – wearing pink on this occasion – didn’t allow their opponent to fulfil their claim.
Ten minutes into the match, the Malaguistas gained control of the ball and started to form actions with great fluidity. Villalba, Gallar and Febas teamed up brilliantly to maintain possession and go in search of the opposing goal. However, their scoring opportunities failed to materialise.
Following the hydration break, Racing once again intensified their gameplay on the attack, but the solid Malaguista defence and a bit of luck ensured the visitors didn’t concede a goal. The scoreboard remained at 0-0 after 45 minutes.
The second half kicked off with the same tone as the first. The locals did their best to score, but the Malaguistas worked hard to stop them.
As time went by, both teams tried to set the pace of the game and equality prevailed on the pitch.
MCF took a step forward in the 70th minute in search of the winning goal and multiplied their presence in the area. Pepe Mel’s men attempted to structure well-organised attacking plays but didn’t manage to achieve their objective.
After an intense finish, the points were shared at Campos de Sport de El Sardinero.
