Club Atlético Malagueño coach, Juan Francisco Funes has renewed for another season with Málaga Club de Fútbol’s reserve team.
The Malaguista coach, accompanied at the renewal signing ceremony at La Rosaleda by MCF Academy head, Sergio Paulo Barbosa 'Duda', extends his relationship with the Entity until 30th June 2024.
Funes is currently in his third season in charge of Malagueño. He arrived at the Club in the 20/21 campaign and during that season and 21/22, the team played the promotion playoffs to Segunda Federación. In 22/23, they are also in promotion playoff positions, in 5th place of Tercera Federación Group 9, accumulating an excellent streak of 10 matches on the bounce without defeat.
Under his orders, being a coach who specialises in training players on and off the pitch, there have been a large number of players who have made or are making the jump from the Blue and White reserve team to the first team, in Málaga CF training sessions, squad lists and official matches.
Hard work and humility define this coach who is committed to our colours. Funes is one more member of the Malaguista Family and we’re thrilled he’s staying with us until 2024. Congratulations, mister!
