Firm victory against Atco. Baleares (3-0)

Málaga CF beat the Mallorcan side thanks to a brace from Roberto (16' and 20') and a cross into goal from Larrubia in 64’ within a spectacular atmosphere at La Rosaleda.

Málaga CF and Atlético Baleares met on Primera Federación matchday 22 on this sunny Sunday 4th February (12:00). 20,988 fans gathered at La Rosaleda Stadium to watch the vibrant match.

Sergio Pellicer’s starting-11 consisted of: A. Herrero; Jokin, Einar, Nelson and Dani Sánchez; D. Ferreiro, Manu Molina, Genaro and Kevin Medina; Dioni and Roberto.

In the initial minutes, Málaga CF took control of possession and the first chances soon followed. The right wing was particularly active, with a highly incisive Jokin and David Ferreiro generating numerous dangerous crosses.

After several dangerous approaches, the first local goal arrived in the 16th minute. David Ferreiro outlined a good play on the right wing in which he assisted Roberto with a low ball at the near post. The striker subsequently sent the ball into the back of Atlético Baleares' goal to make it 1-0 for the locals.

The insistence of the Blue and Whites translated into an immediate 2-0 lead, which came in the 20th minute thanks to another extraordinary shot by Roberto after a corner (2-0).

The Blue and Whites maintained possession and control of the match and continued to approach the visiting area. Another opportunity came in the 31st minute in a counterattack led by Kevin, who filtered a good ball to Dioni to cross into the area. Roberto managed to connect with the pass, but this time his attempt crashed into the crossbar. At half-time we were 2-0 up.

In the second half, Sergio Pellicer’s men maintained control of the match and managed to increase their lead. A great individual play by David Larrubia led to a cross into goal, with visiting centre back Ofoli netting ball into the goal in his attempt to clear it with a header (3-0, 64').

The referee's three whistles declared the end of the match within an amazing atmosphere at La Rosaleda. Málaga CF will visit UD Melilla next Sunday 11th February at 12:00 at the Álvarez Claro.
