What a great afternoon! We could see the joy on the faces of the 82 Genuine players this afternoon at the CDF Romeral ground. They were accompanied by the coaching team as well as collaborators and sponsors of the project.
Hosting Phase 2 of LaLiga Genuine 21/22 at La Rosaleda is a reflection of the importance of the Supercapacitad@s School to Málaga CF. The training sessions, workshops and all the experiences the boys and girls enjoy are thanks to the support of the sponsors, who were present this afternoon. Jose María Muñoz, Málaga CF’s judicial administrator and president of the MCF Foundation, and Manolo Gaspar, sporting director, accompanied Lucas Rodríguez, MCF Foundation coordinator, and Sebastián Fernández 'Basti', member of the Social Department, in representing the Malaguistas at the event.
Lucas Rodríguez revealed his delight that this project has resumed, that “offers opportunities to everyone with intellectual disabilities. We love to see the guys enjoy themselves, learn, play sports and make friends. It’s an experience that makes them feel better and more involved in society. We are growing,” he stated.
This wonderful day started with a great guard of honour. The School’s godfather and godmother, Paco Ráez and Mercedes García Paine were also in attendance.
Jesús Gutiérrez, general manager of Sanama talked about this fifth season. “Seeing their faces full of joy and excitement at being reunited their teammates again on the first day of training makes us want to continue helping and supporting. We feel part of this magic that the MCF Foundation makes possible,” he said to MCFTV.
After a few years in which the relationship between Málaga CF and the Diputación Provincial has grown, Cristóbal Ortega, Deputy for Sports affirmed that: “This initiative launched by Málaga CF is very important for us. We are closely linked to it as we saw from the start there was a need to bring sport to everyone,” he stated. He also defended the commitment to inclusion: “There should be no barriers or impediments to practicing sport in the province.” He added that “it brings Malaguismo closer to Málaga province.”
