Press conference

“I'm working to give my best level; I want to help the team”

Juanpe spoke to the media at a press conference this afternoon at La Rosaleda. “We have a great squad; we are a family,” said the Jerez-born midfielder.

Málaga-Cádiz

“I’m happy to be back on the pitch and help the team, but frustrated with how the match unfolded. I don't think we deserved to lose, but neither to win. It felt like a draw to me.”

Competition

“As a footballer, you always want to be on the field. Luismi, Ramón, Izan, Manu… they’re all doing a fantastic job, and the coach has plenty of options to choose from. We have a great squad, we are a family. You always have to be ready for your opportunity, and I hope to get more minutes moving forward.”

Always ready

“When you go a long time without playing, you feel it. The other day, I felt physically good, strong, and I'm working to perform at my best.”

“The coach makes his decisions, and he's paid to choose what’s best for the team. I've always been available and ready for whenever my opportunity comes.”

Objective

“Since the start of the season, we’ve had a clear objective. To compete as best as possible, game by game. Now, as we approach the final stretch, we are in a very good position; the team has the confidence to keep competing in every match.”

“The team is focused on the goal. LaLiga is getting tighter, but we are clear about our objective and the work we’re doing to achieve it.”

Albacete

“It’s going to be a very competitive match. We’ll aim to avoid mistakes, be ourselves, control the ball more, create more opportunities, be more vertical, and go for the three points.”

Personal

“I've been working all year. I'm ready to help in any way I can, whether the coach needs me to start or come off the bench.”

Izan Merino

“He’s just been called up to the Spanish national team; he’s one of the best midfielders of his age. He’s a great person, a very good professional, and he’s just getting started. He’ll keep improving.”

Position

“What I want is to help the team, wherever that may be. In other teams, I’ve enjoyed playing a bit more forward with more freedom of movement, but I also feel comfortable as a pivot.”
