Encarni stars in International Day of Rural Women at UMA

The Malaguista player took part in the event held last week in the auditorium of the Faculty of Communication Sciences.

Encarni Carneros, Málaga CF Femenino player, represented the Club on International Day of Rural Women, held last Friday 15th October at the Faculty of Communication Sciences auditorium at the University of Málaga. Accompanying the Malaguista player was the Club's women's football ambassador, Manuel Hernández Navarrete.

The MCFF captain was the protagonist in the round table 'The voice of Andalusian women: life experiences', along with other female personalities from the rural environment of the region, such as Carmen Quintero, Remedios Serrano, Beni Hernández, Encarnación Castro, Ana María Sánchez, Amina Kamour, Lourdes García and María Isabel Contreras.

Beforehand, speeches were given by José Ángel Narváez, rector of the UMA; Rocío Rodríguez, Minister of Equality, Social Policies and Conciliation at the Junta de Andalucía; and Adela Romero, president of the Andalusian Coordinator of the Rural Women's Organisation (COAMUR).

Just before the round table in which Encarni took part, María Teresa Vera Balanza, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the UMA, offered the lecture ‘The (in) visibility of rural women in the media.’

The event ended with a reading of the manifesto by Marisa Morales Sánchez, secretary of COAMUR, as well as closing speeches by Joaquina Espejo, vice president of COAMUR; Laura Fernández, Director of the Andalusian Institute for Women; and Isabel Jiménez, vice-rector for Equality, Diversity and Social Action at the UMA.
