Lombán appeared in the mixed zone after the match against Huesca, during what was his first time in the starting-11 this season. The Malaguista defender analysed the match attributing “a half for each team at a very tough ground. As the game progressed, we improved. We ended the match with clear chances to open the scoring. The 0-0 draw doesn’t reflect how the match went.”
“Huesca are a team made to be at the top. We are also ambitious to get as high as possible. Aside from the result, we saw two teams that went all out for the game,” he said about the rival and both teams’ performance.
In regard to a win away from La Rosaleda he said: “The way to get points is to compete. It’s the only path to victory.”
Lombán is happy with his place in the starting line-up today, completing all minutes. “I’m pleased to be able to play. We’ve been working hard from the start of the pre-season to be available when it’s our turn to play. For a defender, keeping a clean sheet is always positive. It’s a shame we couldn’t get the three points,” he added.
The Malaguistas are returning to the pitch again on Saturday, this time at La Rosaleda against CD Lugo. David commented: “Weeks with midweek fixtures are tough as we’re playing every three days which is something we’re not used to. Luckily, we have an extensive squad. The team can boast that those who don’t play so much during the week could be in the starting-11 at the weekend.”
