Einar: “The commitment from all of us has been reflected in the result”

The Málaga defender spoke after the victory against CD Castellón. “It gives us a breather, but we have to already think about the Granada match while enjoying this victory,” he commented.

Match review

“The most important thing is the three points. Today, on a magical day, with La Rosaleda at its best, I want to thank the fans for all the support they gave us. Against a rival who pushed us to the limit, we could have even taken a bigger lead. We suffered, but we all defended incredibly well and earned the reward of the three points at home.”

Collective work

“We were doing well, with some misfortune, but we knew that the only way to get through this was to stay united. Keep rowing together, and after this victory, everything looks better. It gives us a breather, but we have to already think about the Granada match while enjoying this victory.”

Commitment and grit

“It was more difficult for us (keeping a clean sheet) in the second half of the season. It’s the foundation for a solid team. There can be no doubt about the team’s commitment, from Chupete as the first defender to Alfonso, who saved the goal.”

Commitment and result

“We didn’t think about those last few minutes. They came with many players, they piled a lot of people forward, they play very wide, and they feel comfortable. We played a serious, good game, and the commitment from all of us was reflected in the result. Finally, we reap what we’ve sown and what we deserve.”

Central defenders

“We’re many. Muri scored in Eibar, today he played a great match, and it's really nice for him to savour this. Today it was my turn, but whoever is on the field will give everything for their teammate. I’m very calm, Málaga is in good hands, no matter who is playing.”

Focused on the objective

“50 points? Until it’s mathematically secured, we won’t think about it. From there, the more weeks of peace and a completed objective, the better. Today, those three points give us fresh air and all the work that had been done but wasn't reflected in the results. Football has returned a bit of everything to us.”
