Diputación recognises Málaga Femenino

The Edgar Neville Auditorium at the Diputación de Málaga hosted the closing gala of the Municipal Sports Schools for the 21/22 season, in which our women's team received the 'Promotion of Sport' award.

The event, which signalled the end of the sporting activities for the 21/22 season, yesterday rewarded the great work carried out by town halls within the province to promote sport amongst schoolchildren, thanks to the Municipal Sports Schools. Also recognised were the clubs and people who contribute to the promotion of sport through the educational projects at these schools.

As such, the 'EDM Values in Sport 2022 Awards' were presented, featuring special recognition to our women’s teams, with Málaga CF Femenino winning the 'Promotion of Sport' award. Antonio Hurtado Hierrezuelo received the 'Values in Sport' award and BeSoccer CD UMA Antequera received the 'Merits in Sport' award.

Deputy for the Environment, Domestic Tourism, Climate Change and Sports, Cristóbal Ortega, presented the majority of the awards, accompanied by Malaguista captains Alberto Escassi and Ruth Acedo. The Blue and White delegation present at the event was led by Manolo Hernández Navarrete and Lucas Rodríguez.

There was no lack of recognition for the champions of the football and basketball educational leagues by the Diputación de Málaga, as well as the trophy presentation to the sports schools within the educational leagues and the education in values of the Municipal Sports Schools.

The finishing touch to an intense course of activities as normality returned to women’s sport, exemplified for us with four winning teams in our four categories.
