Diego Llorente arrives at Málaga CF on loan from Real Madrid

Defender, Diego Llorente will play on loan with Málaga CF during 2016/17. The young, international central defender is on loan from Real Madrid CF.

Stats and career

Born in Madrid on 16th August 1993 (22 years old), Diego Javier Llorente Ríos is a right-back, 1’86 metres in height and weighing 75 kilos, who developed his career in Real Madrid’s youth ranks.  Following an extensive training period with the Whites, he played in Liga Adelante for a season, 2013/14 (31 matches, all in the starting-11).  Last season, 2015/16, he was loaned out to Rayo Vallecano, becoming a key player with the team based in the Spanish capital.  He took part in 33 of the 38 LaLiga matches (2,875 minutes, two goals) and was selected – as was his new teammate Jony – as part of the revelation 11 in the Spanish competition by UEFA.com.

Achievements and international

Llorente, part of Real Madrid’s youth ranks, took part in various matches with the first team over three seasons, when the Whites won a Spain Supercup (2012/13); a UEFA Champions League title and a Copa del Rey (2013/14); a European Supercup and Club World Cup (2014/15).

In turn, he has already made his debut with Spain’s first team.  It was in the international friendly held on 29th May 2016, in Switzerland, between Spain and Bosnia.  Diego Llorente left the bench – the same day as Pablo Fornals made his debut with La Roja – playing the last 31 minutes of the match, ending in a 3-1 win for Spain.
