Sandro and Llorente: “Málaga is where I want to be”

Both players, who were in training yesterday with their teammates, describe the project as “exciting, ambitious and very nice”.

Why did you choose Málaga CF?

Sandro: “It’s a very exciting project, very ambitious.  A project which I’m extremely keen to be a part of.  I want to give my all.  Hopefully at this point next year we’ll be celebrating something important.”

Llorente: “I think Málaga have a great sporting project, and a very nice challenge.  You can tell that the fans are really looking forward to seeing us.  Now we must focus on contributing to the team and working hard in order to be ready when the competition kicks off.  All these factors were telling me to be here in Málaga.”

Juande Ramos

Sandro: “I was talking to Juande Ramos yesterday.  He expects a great deal of hard work, humility and a good rapport with the group.  It’s time to concentrate on the team, work hard and be prepared for LaLiga.”

Llorente: “I spoke to the coach, and he’s most interested in us adapting well to the team, the city and the dressing room.  All these external factors are favourable to ensure our daily training is as good as it can be.”

Project

Sandro: “It’s a project in which I want to grow and win, and if possible, be here for many years to come.”

Llorente: “I think it’s a project that is arousing great expectation, although we must prove it on the pitch.  Now it’s time to return the confidence the fans have in us on the field of play.”

Position

Sandro: “I’ve always played as a number ‘9’ since I was young, but here it’s what the coach wants.  I’ll try to respond as well as I can in order to help the team.”

Llorente: “I feel more comfortable as a central, but last season Paco Jémez gave me the position of midfielder.  I tried my best.  Should the coach here want me to the same as I did at Rayo, then I’ll do the best I possibly can.”

Objective

Llorente: “The objective is to take each match at a time, nothing is going to be easy.  We’ll need to fight for every point, and that’s what we’ll do.”

Sandro: “LaLiga is very long.  We’ll work hard to get as high up the table as we can.  We must convey patience and confidence.  On the pitch, in every game, we’ll give our all as the Club deserves.  We must focus on each match at a time.”

Playing with Barça

Sandro: “They were two great years for me.  I only have words of thanks to Barcelona and my teammates.  You learn a lot playing alongside the best, but my place is here.  Málaga is where I want to grow, be the best player I can be, and this year is going to be very important for me.”
