Barely 12 hours after signing his new contract with Málaga CF, Diego González has already completed his first training session under the orders of Míchel. The defender, an under-21 international with Spain, stepped on to the pitch at the Ciudad de Málaga, accompanied by homegrown player, Álex Mula, but quickly joined the rest of the players.
In an intense session marked by the high temperatures, Diego looked good physically, and maintained the same level as all his teammates.
Focus was placed on preparations for the Trofeo Costa del Sol, which is taking place tomorrow at 20:30. In today’s training session, the coach had all his players in action, except for Ricca and Peñaranda, who continued with their recovery; Ontiveros who visited Doctor Cugat for a routine check-up; and Miguel Torres, who is undergoing surgery this afternoon. Homegrown players; Mula, Maty, José Carlos, Álex Robles, Samu Casado and Kellyan were again present in first team training.
The last training session before the match against Lazio, is scheduled for tomorrow at 11:00 at the Ciudad de Málaga.
