Demichelis: “The match at the Bernabéu should give us confidence”

Málaga CF’s Argentinean defender, Martín Demichelis, spoke to the media today, Thursday, in the Ciudad de Málaga stadium press room.

Demichelis’ statements:

(Copa match in Madrid).  “After a defeat I always have that horrible feeling of having lost until the next match comes along, but I’ve got to take away the positive aspects of the game, and with a positive mental attitude think only about the Atlético match.  We’ve shown that we can take on Real Madrid at the Bernabéu and that should give us confidence.  Hopefully, next time, we’ll play a match that allows us to create more goal chances and avoid our rival getting into our area; that would be positive.”

(Excitement for the return Copa match). “We’re aware of everything that people are generating, of their expectations, and hopefully we can repay them by getting through.  The most important thing from now until the end of the season is that at end we can lift the cup knowing we’ve reached the objective.”

(Simeone, next rival in the League).  “I know River more than I know Diego, who I know from Argentinean football, European football and the national side.  I can’t really speak about him as a manager, but it’s clear that he’s transmits a lot of motivation and that’s one of the things he’s going to be able to instil.  We hope to come out with the same intensity with which they’re going to play, and come out looking to take the game.”

(Falcao, the Red and Whites’ star).  “I know Falcao more than Diego. When he came to River we shared a house, where most of the guys were living, and it’s been a joy to see how he’s grown over the years, triumphing both in South American and European football.  I hope that I’ll play, that we have a good clean match, and I would like to go out and do well.”
