Málaga Club de Fútbol now know all the teams they will face next season in LALIGA HYPERMOTION, marking their 10th campaign under the current name in Spain's Second Division.

The Blue and Whites will once again face 14 clubs that will remain in the second tier of Spanish professional football: CD Mirandés, Real Racing Club de Santander, UD Almería, Granada CF, SD Huesca, SD Eibar, Albacete Balompié, Real Sporting de Gijón, Burgos CF, Cádiz CF, Córdoba CF, RC Deportivo de la Coruña, CD Castellón and Real Zaragoza.

Meanwhile, three of the new opponents come from LALIGA EA SPORTS, having been relegated from the First Division: CD Leganés, UD Las Palmas, and Real Valladolid CF.

Additionally, four clubs have been promoted from the Primera Federación: Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa and AD Ceuta FC earned direct promotion, while Real Sociedad ‘B’ and FC Andorra secured their spots through the playoffs.

Seven new rivals

CD Leganés, after spending a season in the top flight, return to the Segunda División, where they previously competed from the 2020/21 to 2023/24 seasons in their most recent stint. The club last faced Málaga CF during the 2022/23 campaign.

UD Las Palmas, following two consecutive years in the First Division (2023–2025), also drop back to the second tier. From 2018 to 2023, Las Palmas and Málaga CF spent five straight seasons competing in the same division.

Real Valladolid CF, which have alternated between two promotions to the First Division and three relegations to the Second over the past five years, last faced Málaga CF in the 2021/22 season.

Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa will be a completely new opponent for Málaga, as the two clubs have never met in official competition under any of Málaga’s historical names. The León-based side last played in the Segunda División in the 2017/18 season.

Agrupación Deportiva Ceuta FC will make their debut in professional football under the current name, following direct promotion to LALIGA HYPERMOTION as the overall champion of the Primera Federación.

Real Sociedad de Fútbol ‘B’ return to the second tier after three consecutive seasons in the Primera Federación. The ‘Sanse’ last faced Málaga CF during the 2021/22 season.

Finally, FC Andorra, which have played in the Segunda División during the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons, overlapping with Málaga CF in their debut at this level return after spending one year in the Primera Federación.

The match calendar draw for the competition will take place next Tuesday 1st July, where all the matches for the LALIGA HYPERMOTION 2025/26 season will be officially set. The season is set to kick off the weekend of August 16-17.
