Defeat by Atleti Femenino at Cerro del Espino (4-1)
No points for the Blue and Whites against the Liga Iberdrola leaders. The Malaguistas went level at 1-1 in minute 30 thanks to a goal from Dominika, but victory went to the ‘Colchoneras’.
Málaga CF Femenino suffered a 4-1 defeat against Atlético de Madrid Femenino. Despite a goal from Dominika after 30 minutes to go all square at 1-1, the ‘Colchoneras’ dominated play and claimed all three points from Liga Iberdrola matchday 18.
Málaga defended well during the first quarter of an hour of play. The home side insisted in front of the Blue and White goal, but Chelsea had no problems in resolving the Atleti attempts. However, in 16’ a pass from Ludmila to Jennifer Hermoso ended in the back of the net to open the scoring (1-0). The Malagueñas kept pressing and approaching the goal defended by Lola Gallardo. In 30’, following a pass from Encarni, Dominika left the rival defence behind and netted the equaliser with a beautiful goal (1-1). The scoreboard didn’t remain level for long. In the 40th minute Olga García scored the 2-1, which was widely protested by the Costa del Sol side for a possible hand ball by the Red and Whites in the six-yard box. The referee added a minute on to the first half, which ended 2-1.
The second half got off to an even start and Adriana tried to make things all square again with two free kicks that didn’t find the net. Luck wasn’t on the side of the Blue and Whites as Hermoso scored two consecutive goals – in 61’ and 62’ – to increase their lead to 4-1. Antonio Contreras’ girls continued to work hard. Dominika was determined to score a second to make it 4-2, but her cross shot was lost behind the goal line. The final result was 4-1.
