David Ferreiro: “I’ve adapted straight away, I’m here to bring my experience”

Latest Malaguista signing, David Ferreiro spoke to the media this Wednesday during his official presentation: “I’ve come to earn my place and help the team achieve its goal,” he stated.

Welcome from Loren Juarros

“Thank you, David, for your willingness to come to Málaga. You made it easy. Thank you for coming to contribute to the team for these five months. Wishing you the best of luck. As a player, he is an experienced winger which is something that we consider important for the remainder of the season. He knows how to compete in demanding situations, he’ll find a lot of support here.”

First sensations

“The sensations have been very positive. I knew where I was coming to, this is a big club. I had already spoken with the coach before the signing, he asked me to contribute my experience, to be myself and to give that extra something that the team needs.”

A great opportunity

“When the opportunity arose to come to Málaga I didn’t have to think about it, it is a very big club. The objective is very clear, to return Málaga and the city to where they need to be, to professional football. We know that the challenge is difficult. We’re here to help, to add to the group. There are some keen young players and those of us who are more veteran have to contribute this experience and help them.”

Versatile on the attack

“I feel comfortable, I’m going to adapt to what the coach asks of me, on both wings and in midfield. It's what I've done all my life, I'm an associative player. I come with the idea of helping and contributing to my teammates.”

Great atmosphere in the dressing room

“It’s an incredible dressing room, with young and more experienced players, I have adapted straight away. The training sessions are good, and there’s a great atmosphere which cannot be lost to achieve the objective.”

Dioni and Sangalli, two old friends

“I met Dioni a long time ago, at that time we were the youngest in Cádiz CF and now we are the oldest. That was the first thing I told him. I also knew Sangalli, I have that support and I am very happy to be with them.”

Eager to enjoy Malaguismo

“I don’t think it’s pressure, I’m here to enjoy the atmosphere. It’s been a long time since I experienced a game with 23,000 fans supporting their team, it’s wonderful. All players want that. Pressure to move up? It’s normal for a club like this to have promotion as the main objective.”

Available for the coach

“I’m available, I’ve been training in my previous team. I do lack the pace of play somewhat, but I’m at the coach's disposal for whatever he needs.”

Objective; earning a place

“Of course I want to stay, but I have to earn it. That's why we’ve signed a five-month contract. I’ve come to earn my place and help the team achieve its goal. I want to bring my experience and the football that I have inside.”

The group, key to success

“I already knew about the atmosphere in the stadium, that's why I wanted to be here on Sunday and see it first-hand. The pressure is normal, but we will return. We’ll achieve the objective altogether, the young and veteran players, the group is what achieves the goal.”
