Darder: “Whatever happens we need to win against Getafe”

Málaga Club de Fútbol’s Sergi Darder held a press conference following this morning’s training session, to analyse the next League game against Getafe.

Firstly, the Mallorca-born player talks about this physical fitness level: “I’m feeling much better now and have been improving every day.  I hope I’ll be back to 100 per cent fitness by Saturday.”

Darder believes the team can, and will, move forward: “The team is not in crisis at all.  It’s important that we’re self-critical, but we’re a very tight group and know what we need to do.  Shouts of abuse towards the coach don’t help us at all; we need to have patience, it’s not easy managing a new team.  In order to get out of this hole we all need to be strong and stick together.  We’re focused on our next League game now, and whatever happens we need to win against Getafe.  Then we’ll think about the Cup match.”

Following the last Copa del Rey game, the team is determined for a win on Saturday to boost morale: “Something strange happened in last Sunday’s Cup match, and we need to rectify what went wrong.  It’s crucial we don’t continue to make the same mistakes.  The match against Getafe is the last home game of 2013, and we need to make sure we win.  We need the fans’ support on Saturday at La Rosaleda for the final home game of the year.”
