Dani Martín: “Our hard work will reap rewards”

The Málaga CF goalkeeper spoke to the media following #MálagaRealOviedo. “We’re a young team experiencing new situations; but the group is pumped up and knows what the objective is,” he affirmed.

The Asturian keeper analysed the game. “Defensively we played a very serious game. Apart from two actions in the second half, they didn’t generate any chances. We were lacking somewhat on the attack, but our hard work will reap rewards, and we’re going to continue along that line,” he stated.

On an individual level, he said, “since Pablo (Guede) arrived, he has given me confidence and his way of playing helps me a lot to play with my feet. I feel comfortable with him and his style of play. He’s helping me a great deal and the team needs Dani Barrio and me. We’re here to help”, he added.

“Today I made a fist clearance followed by saving that cross-shot. I’ve also been playing with my feet more.” He went on to say that “if we save every attempt and the strikers score, we’ll move forward. Today we kept a clean sheet.”

Lastly, the Malaguista ‘13’ highlighted the team’s good spirits. “It’s a situation we didn’t want to be in, we wanted to be at the top. The group is pumped up and knows what the objective is. We’re a young team experiencing new situations, but we’re raring to go and immersed in what we need to do,” he said.
