D. Larrubia: “The team has the ambition to achieve big things”

The Blue and White ‘10’ spoke to the media after the draw against Racing Santander. “We wanted to win, but we were up against the best team in the division and it was never going to be easy,” he said.

Personal

“I’m getting better sensations each week. After the injury, my foot was bothering me, and other muscles in my body were getting overloaded, but I’m feeling a bit better now and I can handle playing the full match without any problem.”

“With the 2-0, the game would have been much more controlled, but it wasn’t meant to be. Chupe hit the post, and Vicente changed the match. Racing played a very good second half and we weren’t able to counter it.”

Excitement

“We always want to win, but we are determined to go to Zaragoza to win and secure a place in the playoffs. The team has the ambition to achieve big things.”

Strong rival

“We knew Racing wanted to secure first place and wouldn’t come here to take it easy. With the reception, the stadium full, the mosaic… we wanted to win, but you have to be aware that we were up against the best team in the division and it was never going to be easy.”

Scoring record

“10 goals? That’s my record since I started in 11-a-side football. Yes, that was the target, and now it’s time to beat it. I’m happy on a personal level, but there’s a bittersweet feeling because of the team’s draw. There are, hopefully, five matches left. And I hope I can keep adding what I can.”

“My goal? I saw Dotor, I supported the move, and I struck it first time with my right foot without thinking. It turned out to be a great goal.”
