The Fundación MCF closes the first season of ‘Sumemos Juntos’, reinforcing grassroots football values

The project has visited 14 clubs within the Framework Agreement throughout the season and has brought together around 700 people, including players, families, coaches, and club directors.

The Ciudad Deportiva Fundación MCF hosted the closing event of the ‘Sumemos Juntos’ season on Tuesday, a project promoted by the Foundation during the current campaign aimed at fostering positive values in grassroots football through talks, meetings, and participatory activities.

The initiative has visited a total of 14 clubs belonging to the Framework Agreement throughout the season, and also held a round table discussion at Málaga University, reaching around 700 people, including players, coaches, directors, and families. The participating clubs in this first edition were CD Cártama, CD Churriana, AD Malaka, Athletic Puerta Blanca, La Cala CD, Atlético Portada Alta, La Academia, Atlético San Julián, Atlético Benamiel, Athletic Fuengirola, CD Carlinda, Atlético Bezmiliana, Atlético Estación, CD Casabermeja, and CD Puerto Malagueño.

Throughout the season, the different sessions have featured representatives from the Fundación MCF, including Basti, as well as numerous guests linked to sport and Malaguismo such as Súper Boke, Jesús Gámez, Héctor Díaz, Elena Martínez, Miguel Valle, Francis Bravo, Eva Alcaide, Einar Galilea, Adri Iglesias, Antonio Noel, Rafa Gómez, Jesús Riera, Paquito, and Adrián Rando.

The talks have focused on conveying sporting values and raising awareness about grassroots football as a path of holistic development: enjoying football, teamwork, respect for referees and opponents, the positive role of parents in the stands, handling pressure, and understanding the reality of professional football.

As a final highlight, the Ciudad Deportiva Fundación MCF hosted a fun, participatory day in the form of a gymkhana, featuring players, families, and representatives from various clubs in the Framework Agreement: CD Cártama, CD Churriana, Athletic Puerta Blanca, Atlético Portada Alta, La Cala CD, Atlético Bezmiliana, La Academia, Athletic Fuengirola, Atlético San Julián, Atlético Estación, CD Casabermeja, CD Puerto Malagueño, and Atlético Benamiel.

Attendees enjoyed different tests and stations focused on shooting accuracy, coordination, strength, and dynamic obstacle circuits, always under a spirit of fun, respect, and togetherness that has defined the project since its beginning. In addition, different stations featured members of the Supercapacitad@s School; Atlético Malagueño coach, Francis Bravo; the coach of Málaga CF Femenino Héctor Díaz; Málaga CF mascot Súper Boke; and first-team women’s players Yessenia Alcaide and Arantxa Medina, sharing a day of closeness and values with everyone present.

The ‘Sumemos Juntos’ project has had the support throughout the season of Fundación Unicaja as its main sponsor, backing an initiative focused on education in values and the development of grassroots football in Málaga. The closing of this first edition also featured the presence of Gerardo Lerones, Director of Social Activities at Fundación Unicaja, accompanying participants in a day marked by togetherness and teamwork.

With the closing of this first season, ‘Sumemos Juntos’ brings to an end a campaign full of learning, togetherness, and Malaguismo, establishing itself as a benchmark initiative for grassroots football in Málaga. The Fundación MCF will continue working to ensure that sport remains an educational tool and a force for unity. Because together, on and off the pitch, we keep contributing to grassroots football.

See you next season!
