Cristo: “It’s very clear to me that you have to work with humility”

The homegrown player was interviewed by MCFTV where he talked about his impressions following his official first team debut: “My dream is to be part of the first team, but I know my team is Malagueño and if I have to go down I’ll give my all”.

Half his life in Málaga, his home

“In 2ª Benjamín I was in Taraguilla, then in 2ª Alevín I signed to Málaga. I was between the Club and Sevilla and it was Manel Casanova who convinced me. I’ve spent practically half my life in Málaga, I love this city”.

First team arrival

“It caught me by surprise. I was training and working with the reserve team during the pre-season and when Víctor called me I was thrilled and came here to do my best. Víctor helps you a lot when it comes to playing and training. He’s very approachable, he tells it how it is, which is much appreciated”.

Bold and brash

“I like to be daring, when I reach zone three (attack) I try to put pressure on, confront the rival, make cross shots. That’s how I characterise myself”.

The enthusiasm of the homegrown players

“The debut was incredible, here in front of our fans, incredible. We arrived from the lower ranks with immense enthusiasm, everyone in the dressing room gave us a great welcome, they’re all really great”.

Working with humility is key

I know my team is Malagueño and if I have to go down I’ll give my all. It’s very clear to me that you have to work with humility and my dream is to be part of the first team”.
