The Club has always had a strong connection with the Carnaval de Málaga, and in recent seasons there have been countless actions in which the ‘Fiesta del Invierno Cálido’ and Málaga CF have followed the same beat.
When February arrives, the city of Málaga is filled with masks and entertainment in all corners of the city, even reaching the Malaguista temple, with groups performing in the run-up to matches. Blue and White also fills the Cervantes Theatre during the Malaguista Carnival. During the pandemic, the connection between the Carnaval de Málaga Foundation and MCF Foundation was more alive than ever with the Malaguista ‘coplas’ competition earlier this year.
Continuing the carnival link, a Malaguista representation attended La Casa del Carnaval de Málaga last week for the presentation of the calendar of events and the protagonists of #CarnavalMLG2022. The delegation was made up of the Club’s Institutional Relations and Protocol adviser, Francisco Martín Aguilar, along with Málaga CF Foundation coordinator, Lucas Rodríguez, and member of the Social Department, Sebastián Fernández ‘Basti’.
As well as the sponsor of this traditional event, president of the Diputación Provincial de Málaga, Francisco Salado was in attendance, as well as the Málaga Events Councillor as institutional representatives.
The Carnaval de Málaga 2022 will get underway on 4th February with the inauguration by Natalia Meléndez, the Official Singing Groups Contest (COAC) will run from 10-26th February, while the street activities will take place from 26th February to 6th March.
The protagonists of this event were Ángela González and Francisco Javier Padilla, who will cover the hymn; Luis Almagro who is designing the poster; whilst Miguel Gutiérrez will be the event’s town crier, and Álvaro Díaz will be in charge of the children’s announcements.
The countdown is on to February! Viva el Carnaval!
