Born in Valencia on 14th March 1945, Pons kicked off his career with Levante UD and later signed to CD Málaga. The striker was part of the Blue and Whites’ first team for six seasons, between the 1967/68 and 1972/73 campaigns.
He was part of the Malaguista squad that achieved promotion to the First Division in the 1969/70 season. He played a total of 110 official matches with the Martiricos Club, scoring 24 goals. In 1973, he returned to Levante Unión Deportiva, in the Second Division.
In 2015, Pons received a simple tribute in the run-up to Levante-Málaga CF (0-1, Duda), corresponding to the 17th match of the 2015/16 season.
