Coín pays homage to Josemi on the X Anniversary of the ‘peña’

The night of Saturday 26th March was a memorable one for the many members of the Peña Malaguistas del Guadalhorce “Juanmi” and of course Josemi, Málaga CF first team delegate.

This event has been two years in the making (postponed due to the Covid pandemic), to pay homage to our delegate and historic former player. One of the three Malagueño players, together with Fernando Hierro and Isco to have won the UEFA Champions League, this event to celebrate Josemi coincided with the 10th anniversary of the Coín supporters’ club.

The event was held at Restaurante Platero, with Mayor of Coín, Francisco Santos in attendance, along with Cristóbal Ortega, Councillor for Tourism and Sport at Coín Town Hall and Provincial Deputy for the Environment and Sport at the Diputación de Málaga. President of the Federación de Peñas Malaguistas, Miguel Molina headed up the large representation of numerous Blue and White peñas from the province, who accompanied the Malaguistas del Guadalhorce, whose president, Miguel Cortés, was the perfect host for the evening.

Throughout the evening, the Coín peña gave out several Blue and White gifts. Josemi received a plaque and commemorative shirt, and also featured in an emotional video charting his brilliant career as a footballer. There was also the traditional exchanging of Malaguista gifts between the peña and the Club.

Malaguismo in Coín has been unconditionally supporting Málaga CF since 2012, through the good and bad times. The union seen between these fans shows how we must all stick together, what a true example.

Congratulations on 10 years, Coín! Here’s to the next 10!
