Chelsea and Málaga CF Femenino go their separate ways

The goalkeeper of the Malaguista squad has informed the Club of her decision not to continue in goal next season with the Blue and Whites.

Málaga CF Femenino’s first goalkeeper, Chelsea Ashurst (22/04/1990) and Málaga CF Femenino are going their separate ways following the 2018-19 season.

The goalkeeper has informed the Club of her intention not to renew her contract for next season after competing in Spain’s First Division, Liga Iberdrola, and being in the starting line-up in all matches of the regular competition, with the exception of the Copa de la Reina clash against Atlético de Madrid Femenino.

Chelsea joined Málaga CF at 14 years of age and has always had a strong link to the Martiricos entity. With the aim of never undoing the tie that has been formed over the years, the keeper has donated her shirt she wore in Liga Iberdrola to the MCF Museum.

A gesture to ensure her name and love for Málaga CF will always remain in the museum showcase dedicated to women’s football.

Málaga CF thanks Chelsea for her involvement with the team over the years and wishes her lots of luck for the future.
