Five tournaments coming up for #MCFAcademy

Alevines and Benjamines are taking part in various competitions in Spain and France. The 2ª Benjamín is participating in the ‘final four’ of the Copa Federación.

Although the domestic leagues came to an end several weeks ago, competition continues in June for Málaga CF’s 7-a-side teams. The MCF Academy’s Alevines and Benjamines are taking part in four tournaments in Spain and another in France.

Copa Federación - Benjamín 2009

The final phase of the Andalucía Benjamín Championships is taking place this weekend in a ‘final four’ format. Málaga CF is seeking a place in the grand final against Real Betis Balompié on Saturday at 12:30. If the Blue and Whites win, on Sunday at 12:00 they will be playing for the title of Andalusian Champions against the winner of Sevilla FC - Granada CF. In the case of defeat, the third-place decider is scheduled for Sunday at 10:30. All matches are taking place at Cuevas Bajas. 

Tomir Cup - Alevín 2007

Between 6th and 9th June, in Caravaca de la Cruz in Murcia, 32 teams will be competing in the V Tomir Cup.  Málaga CF is in Group C with EF Torre Pacheco, Ranero CF, Albacete Balompié, Combinado Comarcal Murcia Vega Media B, Elche CF, ADM Lorquí and Playas de San Javier Beach Soccer. Other teams competing include SD Eibar, Atlético de Madrid, Real Betis Balompié, SL Benfica and CA Osasuna.

Ris Cup - Alevín 2008

Over the weekend in the vicinity of Paris, around 700 children will be competing in this international tournament. Málaga CF shares Group C with Red Star, US Grigny, JSC Bellevue, UF Clichois and Usro5. Galatasaray SK, SM Caen, FC Porto, Sporting Portugal, KAA Gent and Atalanta are some of the other teams competing in this tournament.

Azpeitia Cup - Alevín 2008

A highly prestigious tournament bringing together the best youth teams in Spain. Málaga CF is in Group 4 and will face Celta de Vigo, Rayo Vallecano, Sonseca and CD Primer Toque. The top two teams will go through to the next stage, where another four groups of four teams will be formed. The winners of each group will compete in the semi-finals. The best youth teams in Spain are called-up for this competition.

Levante Cup - Benjamín 2010

Like the aforementioned tournament, the Levante Cup is highly prestigious within national grassroots football. Málaga CF will be up against major esteemed rivals to earn a place in the final phase (the draw for the competition is taking place on Friday evening). Some of the youth teams taking part are Escuela del Barcelona, Club Atlético de Madrid, Real Betis Balompié, Villarreal CF, Levante UD and Getafe CF, amongst others.
