Cazorla, a week of facing his glorious recent past
The Asturias-born international midfielder, Santo Cazorla, recently spoke to MCF-TV, the Club’s sports channel about, Málaga’s forthcoming BBVA League match against Villareal, a team at which he spent many years.
The most expensive signing in Málaga CF’s history arrived last summer as one of the pillars of the ambitious Malaguista project, and he’s been responding to the expectations place on his footballing talent by managing four league goals (3 free kicks).
It will not be the first time that Cazorla has taken on his Castilian side. “With Recre I played against Villareal and it’s going to be a special match. I have many friends there who I’m still in contact with, it was a great period, but now I’m focused on Málaga,” he affirms.
Both Garrido and Pellegrini have been key to his consolidation as one of the best national footballers. “I had Garrido as a coach when I was in the reserve side, and then later in the first team, he’s a club manager and he won it. For the boss, Pellegrini, it’ll also be very special, I was with him there for several years and it was a great period for us both,” confirms the number ‘12’.
Santi, despite having a great warmth for the Yellows, is clear that he is “defending his intersets” and that he is “only thinking about Málaga. “And if I have a take a free kick, I hope I’ll get it in. I’m going to go for 2-0 and to win, which is fundamental, and to try and help the team.”
